New Philips Hue options include flexible track lighting, battery-powered table lamp and more

Signify has announced a wide range of new Philips Hue lighting products for its ever-expanding range, as well as a new switch designed to make it easy to dim lights and select scenes.

In addition, the Hue app has been updated to offer smart homeowners a new Sunrise option, allowing existing color lights to mimic the colors of a sunrise to gently wake you up in the morning…

New Philips Hue track lighting system

Perhaps the most interesting option is a flexible track lighting system. In a way, this is mood lighting that comes full circle! Long before smart lighting existed, you could buy colored spotlights to fit on a ceiling track to create a color cast on walls. Now Hue owner Signify has brought track lighting up to date.

The key to the new product is its flexibility, which allows you to mix and match different types of lamps.

Become the personal lighting designer of your home with Philips Hue Perifo track lighting.

Perifo is a new line from Philips Hue that consists of individual rails that fit together to create a fully customizable track. You choose the layout and length of the lane and what lighting you want to use to have complete control over the way you light your home.

The rail can be mounted on the wall or ceiling and plugged into a standard wall outlet or existing wires using the supplied power supply. Then the real fun begins when you click the smart bulbs of your choice into the lane and place them exactly as you want.

You can combine your choice of colour-matched spotlights, pendants, light bars and light tubes into a single Perifo rail to create the atmosphere for any occasion while also creating a unique design feature.

Battery powered table lamp

The first battery-powered Hue Go lamp was launched in 2017 and is still popular today for subtle mood lighting. But the latest addition to the portable Go range is a more practical table lamp.

With the new Philips Hue Go portable table lamp, you can now take smart light from the living room to the table on the patio, or anywhere inside and outside your home. Designed for indoor and outdoor use, the portable table lamp has a silicone grip, making it easy to take anywhere you need light. The Hue Go portable table lamp offers up to 48 hours of battery life and is easy to charge using the included charging station. Whether you’re reading in bed or dining on the patio, the lamp’s button lets you cycle through preset light scenes to create just the right atmosphere.

Other new Philips Hue lamps

There are a few new gradient lights, which allow a mix of colors to be displayed at the same time.

The new Philips Hue Signe gradient lamp in oak wood [has a] slim profile and a natural wood-tone base, it is designed to be both a statement and a subtle accent for the bedroom. It is available as a table lamp as well as a floor lamp.

There are also a number of bathroom ceiling lights that are designed to cope with a high humidity environment.

The Philips Hue Xamento recessed spot in black brings a subtle, contemporary design to the bathroom and offers up to 350 lumens in millions of colors of dimmable smart light exactly where you need it. The Xamento recessed spot in black is available as a single or 3-pack. The Philips Hue Xamento M ceiling lamp in black is a decorative focal point in the bathroom and fills the room with subtle, diffused light thanks to its unique design.

Philips Hue switch for easy dimming and scene selection

A new Tap dial switch offers four programmable buttons intended for scene selection, while the dial on the outside allows for easy dimming.

The Tap rotary switch has four buttons and each button can be set to control smart lights in up to three separate rooms or zones in the home. Tap a button to instantly choose or adjust a light scene. The Tap dial also comes with intuitive dimming controls – the faster or slower you turn the dial, the faster or slower your smart bulbs will dim or brighten. The switch also features a sleek, matte design in black or white, making it fit anywhere in your home. It can also be used as a handy remote control or even mounted magnetically to metal surfaces.

Scene at sunrise

The Hue app already offers a soft wake-up scene designed to gradually fade into the light, and this has now been complemented with a new Sunrise option.

With its rich, colorful transition from blue to soft orange light, the new Sunrise effect mimics the sun appearing on the horizon — helping you wake up relaxed in the morning or at any time of the day. The Sunrise wake style can be found in the Philips Hue app under the Wake up Automations tab for Hue Bridge users and the Routines tab for Bluetooth users. The wake up style can be adjusted according to the duration and time of day. Users of the existing wake-up style — now called Fade to Bright — can upgrade their wake-up experience by simply selecting Sunrise from the automation’s edit screen.
